Collaborate and ideate around the persona's problem and experience. Together perform Negative Brainstorming, Figure Storming and/or Body Storming to find new ways to solve a problem.

Special Brainstorming

Step1. Choose the most appropriate method to empathize with your user.

Step 2. Communicate to your team the parameters of the ideation session. For example if your negative brainstorming. Play your digital story or read your problem statement and inform your team that your goal is not to find a solution but find everything that can go wrong.

Step 3. Cluster together the gained ideas from the special branstorming session.

Step 4. Have a discussion with your team about your findings. Summarize for the group the insights gained from the exercise.

Special Brainstorming

Play your customer story and perform one or more of the following techniques, then democratically decide which ideas are the best. Write down ideas on post-its and organize in clusters document findings.

Group Size: 2-10

Materials Needed: Special Brainstorming Pens, Markers and Post-its, Camera

Duration: 10-20 mins

Special Brain-storming

  • Generate a large number of ideas.

    Look at the problem from a different perspective.

    Boost creativity of the group by introducing a new perspective.

    Inspire ideas when the team gets stuck.

  • Work in small groups of 2-10 team members. Play your digital story or read your problem statement. Explain to the team your creative technique and begin to document ideas on post its (10 mins). Have team members read ideas and cluster together similar ideas (10 min) and have discussion about the ideas generated.

    In Negative Brainstorming, we ideate negatively meaning we list all the things that could go wrong or make the situation worst.

    In Figure storming, we ideate around a particular a person we choose, like a the president of the country, a CEO, or the average person. Allow team members to present their ideas before the vote. We want to look at the problem from their perspective , from their, power, resources, network, and even vulnerability.

    In BodyStorming we ideate around a person in particular situation or scenario.
